In order to manage any asbestos within a premise, it is important to have accurate information to identify the whereabouts, type and amount of asbestos containing materials (ACM's).
Asset Contracts Ltd can carry out a survey if you suspect there may be asbestos in your premises. The Health and Safety Executive recommend that surveys are carried out to ascertain whether asbestos is present or not. The survey can then provide information needed to compile a register.

Asbestos Surveys
Asbestos-containing materials (ACM) are either known to contain or presumed to contain asbestos.
The purpose of surveying is to make a 'materials assessment', i.e.
• To find ACM and record what it is, where it is and how much there is;
• To record how accessible it is, its condition, and any surface treatment;
• To record the asbestos type, by sampling or by presuming.

Reinspection
A survey of known asbestos items to establish condition and on going management, or to amalgamate a quantity of survey reports.
Management
The Management Survey purpose is required to manage ACM during the normal occupation and use of premises. The duty-holder can make a Management Survey where the premises are simple and straightforward. Otherwise, a surveyor is needed.
Refurbishment / Demolition
The Refurbishment / demolition Survey is required where the premises, or part of it, need upgrading, refurbishment or demolition. The Survey does not need a record of the ACM condition. Normally, a surveyor is needed for Refurbishment / demolition Surveys.
